BP Weekly Newsletter 11-15-2020

Hello Superstar Families,

We are so incredibly proud of all of our students on completing a successful first trimester! We know this year has been challenging and unlike any other, but we are so thrilled to reach this milestone in both our hybrid and remote models. Thank you for your continued dedication, patience and support as we navigate through this time. A few things going into this week:

Safety:

Just a reminder that everyone on school grounds should have masks on, including on the playground. Thank you for adhering to social distancing on the playground as well. This helps keep all of our Brook Park community safe.

Report Cards:

Report Cards and MAP reports will go home with our hybrid students on Thursday, November 19th. MAP reports are for 1st-5th Grade only. You will not see grades for work completed during the asynchronous half of the day but will see feedback regarding this work. The schedule for our remote learners report card pickup is as follows:

Remote Learner Report Card Pickup:

Thursday, November 19th:

Grades K-5 Last Name A-M

10:40-11:10 and 3:30-3:50

Grades K-5 Last Name N-Z

11:10-11:40 and 3:50-4:10

Friday, November 20th:

Grades K-5 Last Name A-Z

10:50-11:20

If you have children in your household with different last names, you do not need to attend multiple pick ups. Your child’s remote teacher will also be providing this information to you as well.

Makeup Schoolwork:

If your child has to miss an extended period of time from school due to quarantine, they will enter into our Moby Max program facilitated by our Specials teachers and also should work on any assignments posted in Seesaw (K-2) or Google Classroom (3-5). Your child’s teacher may also ask students to do specific assignments during their time at home. There is also a possibility your child’s teacher may be piloting having quarantined students Zoom into their classroom, but please know that is just one option out of many to keep your students up to speed on their instruction during their extended absence from school.

BPC Food Drive and LaGrange Park District Information:

Attached please find the flier with the information for the food drive taking place on Nov 16 - 20 outside Doors 1 & 21, with the food to be picked up daily, and delivered to Share Food Share Love Food Pantry in Brookfield. There is also information attached about the LaGrange Park District Programs.

We are looking forward to another great week and hope everyone enjoyed the weekend!
