Regular attendance is essential to achieve success in the educational program. For your child’s protection, parents/guardians are required to call the attendance line at the extension listed above, by 7:45 a.m., if your child will be absent. Absence messages can be called in anytime from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. If you do not call by 9:00 a.m., the office clerk will contact you at home or work. If we are unable to make contact, the police could be called to assist us in locating your child.

 

After three days of absence, the principal may request a written excuse from a physician.

 

A student must be in attendance for the entire school day to participate in a district extracurricular activity.

 

State of Illinois requirements for student attendance is as follows:

 

6th through 8th grade students must attend 5 clock hours to be considered in full attendance for that day and 2.5 clock hours to be considered in half-day attendance.
