Principal's Message

Dear Warrior Families and Community Members,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year!

I am incredibly proud to serve as the principal of SE Gross Middle School. Every year, I am reminded of what makes this school special. Our students bring energy, curiosity, creativity, and personality to our halls and classrooms, and our teachers bring an extraordinary level of dedication, expertise, and heart to their work.

Last year, we focused on what it means for every student to truly belong at SEG. We saw encouraging evidence that our efforts are making a difference. Students participated in more clubs and activities, attendance remained strong, academic growth was significant, and students and families shared positive feedback about their experiences at school. Just as importantly, our staff continued to grow together as a professional community. These accomplishments belong to all of us.

Now, we move forward together.

Our theme for the 2026–2027 school year is One Nation. Forward Together. It reflects both who we are and where we are going. At SEG, we believe that every student should feel known, challenged, supported, and proud to be a Warrior. We also believe that our greatest successes happen when students, staff, families, and community members work together toward a shared purpose.

Forward means we continue to grow. We will challenge our students academically, support them as they navigate the social and emotional demands of middle school, and continually look for ways to make a strong school even better. We will celebrate progress while remaining curious about what comes next.

Together means we do not do this work alone. Our teachers and staff collaborate, learn from one another, and continually reflect on how we can better serve our students. Our students contribute their ideas, talents, and energy to our community. Our families are essential partners in helping children thrive.

And One Nation means every Warrior matters. Whether a student finds their place in a classroom, on a team, in a club, on a stage, or simply through a meaningful connection with an adult or friend, we want every student to know that they are an important part of SEG.

None of this happens without our incredible teachers and staff. I am continually impressed by their willingness to learn, reflect, collaborate, and do what is best for kids. Our students benefit every day from adults who believe that middle school is not simply a place to prepare for the future, but a place where students should thrive right now.

Our work is strongest when families are part of it, too. We value the partnership we have with our families and community, and we know students are most successful when the adults around them are working together. Please continue to ask questions, share ideas, celebrate your child's successes, and partner with us when challenges arise. If you haven’t done so already, I encourage you to sign up and get involved with our incomparable Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). This partnership is essential for our continued success. There is so much to look forward to this year. 479 Warriors will walk through our doors, and each one deserves to know that they belong here. My commitment is to make sure every student has opportunities to learn, grow, connect, contribute, and discover their place within our Warrior Nation.

We have a strong foundation. We have much to celebrate. And we have important work ahead.
