BP Weekly Newsletter 9-24-21

Superstar families,

This was a great week at Brook Park! We continue to be so proud of the students' hard work. Remember that tonight the BPC is hosting the Ballet Folklorico at 6:30 and the movie “Coco” following the performance.

Bus Riders:

If your child rides the bus, please remind them to sit in their assigned seat, this will aid in contact tracing if it becomes necessary. Please also help us to reinforce the importance of mask wearing on the bus. We are visiting busses each day after school to remind students of this as well.

BP Job Opportunities:

Brook Park is hiring! We are looking for a 10 month secretary as well as paraprofessionals to join our Brook Park family. If you know anyone interested in applying, please have them visit the Employment page on our District 95 website

Social Emotional Learning:

Brook Park's school-wide Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons focused on feelings this week. Students learned about the Zones of Regulation. More information is linked below and also on Mrs. Castro's website.

Family Baskets:

The staff at Brook Park School is working on putting together gift packages for some of the families in our school community.  We are sending an email blast to every family at Brook Park School.

We realize that the economy and COVID is affecting many people in our area, and we would like to offer this gesture of holiday cheer to you and your family.  We will be purchasing gifts and some food items for families.

We are targeting Tuesday, December 14th as our contactless delivery date, but other arrangements can be made.  As the date gets closer,  we will contact you to schedule a time and place for delivery.

As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, we want to share another opportunity with all of our families.   The Christian Fellowship Church - located across the street from S.E. Gross Middle School - will have Thanksgiving meals available for families who are in need this year.

In the past, the meals have included: canned corn, canned cranberry sauce, white rice 1Lb bagged, black beans 1Lb bagged, pinto beans 1Lb bagged, stuffing mix, brownie mix, mashed potatoes, a packet of brown gravy, and boxed corn muffin mix. Each family would also receive a turkey. The meals will be supplied on Saturday, November 13th. If interested, we can deliver it to your home on the 13th.  It will be a contactless delivery.

Please complete this Google Form by October 8th if you are interested in receiving a Holiday Gift Package or a Thanksgiving meal.
