BP Weekly Newsletter 11-18-21

Hello Superstar Families,

We are sending out our weekly blast early to remind everyone that tomorrow is a Superstar Spirit Day! Please have your students wear Brook Park gear or blue and gold.

At a time where focusing on being thankful is at the center, we want to express how thankful we are to all of our Brook Park families for all of your continued support this year. We are so thankful to have such an incredible community. Thank you for your partnership in making this school year such a success.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated to the Food Drive this week (items will still be accepted on Friday) and helped provide food for families in need! There was an incredible amount of food that went to the Share Food Share Love Food Pantry.

Traffic Pattern at Brook Park:
Please use the main entrances as the only morning drop off zone (Door #1 and #21). Your child should be on the passenger side of the car and be ready to exit as soon as you reach the drop off zone. Please do not pull over the curb at drop-off because cars are driving past the stopped cars and this will increase the chance of an accident. When your child has exited, please proceed to the stop sign at 30th and Raymond. A reminder that during pick-up and drop-off Raymond Avenue is a one way going south. St. Louise is once again putting up the one way sign so cars should be able to use both sides of Raymond to turn right or left accordingly. If you need to supervise your child, you should park your car in a legal parking space and walk him/her to his/her line. The school day begins promptly at 8:00 am. All children can enter the classroom at 7:45 am. Arriving early prevents your child from being tardy. Be sure to allow extra time when there is snow or other inclement weather. Please share this information with everyone who transports your child to school.

End of Trimester 1:

We are proud of the students, parents and staff for completing the first trimester! Report cards, MAP scores (grades 1-5)  and IAR (grades 4-5 only that took the test at BP last year) will all be going home on Friday, December 3rd.

Winter Clubs:

With over 300 interest responses I am happy to say that 91% of those students were placed into a club! If you submitted a winter clubs interest form you should have received an email from the club advisor notifying you of your student's club placement OR an email from me informing you that your student(s) were unable to be placed.

If your student(s) were placed into a club please fill out the registration and complete the payment ASAP as your student will be unable to attend the club if those are missing.

SEL Blurb:

This week, students completed a Zones of Regulation review escape room as a fun social emotional learning activity leading into the holiday break.  You can check it out here.

We wanted to remind everyone that we are off school all next week (Nov 22-Nov 26) and we hope this is an opportunity to spend time with your loved ones!

We hope everyone has a great week off and an amazing Thanksgiving!
