BP Weekly Newsletter 2-4-22

Superstar families,

It was an amazing fun day full of tutus and school spirit at Brook Park. We want to thank all of the parents for your help and support during the e-learning days on Wednesday and Thursday. We are so proud of all of the kids and were so glad to see everyone back today! Please take some time to read about many fun things coming up:

SEL Blurb:

This week, kindergarteners, first and second graders, practiced mindfulness through art.  Third, fourth, and fifth graders learned about goal setting.

February 8th (100th Day):

Our 100th day of school is Tuesday, February 8th! This is such a great time to reflect on how much progress all the kids have made in the last hundred days. Your child’s classroom or grade level may be doing something specific to celebrate or you can celebrate in your own unique way!

Valentine’s Day ❤️ :

Valentine's Day will be celebrated on Monday, February 14. Students are allowed to bring in Valentine's Day cards as these are sweet gestures of friendship to build classroom community.

Youth 3 on 3 Basketball League

Who?:  Boys and Girls PreK thru 8th Grade

League Dates:  March 3-April 16th (perfect buffer between Jr. Bulldogs season and when the weather gets nice for baseball).

Practices: Either Thursday or Friday nights (focus on skill building)

Games:  Saturdays morning/early afternoon (beginning March 5)

Staff:  Current and former RB Boys Basketball assistants, Jr. Bulldog staff, and former RB players.

Why 3 on 3?   3 on 3 allows players to work on their skills, as they will get more touches throughout the game, than a normal 5 on 5 game.  More touches= more dribbling, more passing, and more shooting, which allows for better skill building at the youth ages.

More information including registration information and cost is available on the attached document or by going to this link:

https://web2.myvscloud.com/wbwsc/ilbrookfieldwt.wsc/splash.html

Click on Programs and then scroll through until you find the 3 on 3 league registration.

We look forward to having your child participate in our annual league!

We are so excited to celebrate so many special events in February and hopefully many of you will have a chance to go sledding or build a snowman this weekend!

We hope everyone has a wonderful and relaxing weekend after a ton of shoveling the last few days!
