BP Weekly Newsletter 8-26-22

Superstar families,

It was an amazing first week back to school here at Brook Park! It was wonderful to see all of the students meet their teachers and classmates. This year is off to an incredible start and we can’t wait for it to continue! There are many things coming up so please take some time to read the information below:

Picture Day:

Picture Day will take place next week on Tuesday, August 30th. You can order your students' pictures online once you receive the proof approximately two weeks after picture day. There will be a retake date that will be announced at a later time.

Curriculum Night:

Curriculum Night is Tuesday, August 30th from 6-7:30 pm. We hope that this can be an adults only event and will take place in person in all of the teachers' classrooms. We have attached the curriculum night information to this email.

MAP Testing:

MAP testing will take place next week for students in Grades 1-5. Here is the tentative schedule for next week's MAP Testing:

1-Tuesday/Thursday 12:15-1:45

2- Tuesday ELA /Wednesday Math 8:15-9:30

3- Monday ELA/Wednesday Math 9:30-11:00

4- Tuesday/Wednesday 9:30-11:00

5-Monday/Tuesday 11:15-12:40

This data helps us determine groups and make instructional classroom decisions. Fall MAP scores are sent home with the Trimester 1 report card.

Fall Clubs:

We are so excited to be offering 19 clubs this fall session!

Check out the Fall Club Brochure, this has all the information you need to know about the clubs we are offering! Please pay close attention to what days clubs meet, the frequency of their meeting dates, start/end times, and required grade level.

You will also notice that in this session we are not offering kindergarten clubs. We want to give our kindergartners time to transition into the new school year and adjust to a very full and busy day before their day is extended even more. We will begin to offer kindergarten clubs in the Winter Session.

After reading through the brochure, please fill out a Fall Club Interest Form (1 per student), keep in mind this doesn't guarantee a spot.

This form is due by next Friday, September 2nd  at 11:59 PM.

No forms will be accepted on Saturday, September 3rd.

Before reaching out with questions please reference this FAQ Document. I will also be available at the upcoming Curriculum Night on August 30th- you can find me in the Big Gym!

The brochure, interest form, and FAQ document contain a lot of information so please be sure to read everything to ensure our club process continues to run smoothly. This is an incredible program made possible by our teachers and I look forward to another great year!
