Superstar Families,

 

We had a great and short week here at Brook Park. This included an assembly to discuss fire safety with the LaGrange Park Fire Department. There are quite a few things coming up in October, so please take a look before the weekend:

 

Parent University

District-wide Parent Education Night will take place at Brook Park on Wednesday, October 26th at 6:30 p.m. Will be presented by Katie Johns, District Behavior Specialist, and titled: Adjusting to the new school year: How to incorporate new routines, cope with changes and support your students at home. Week of October 11 - SEL Blurb

This week, students began lessons from Strong Start (K-2) and Strong Kids (3-5).  The Strong Kids curriculum series helps children develop the social-emotional skills they need to build a strong foundation for school success.  Engaging classroom discussions and activities foster learning about emotions, managing anger, and solving problems.  Learn more about Lessons 1 and 2 here.

Red Ribbon Week:

October 24th-October 28th will be Red Ribbon Week at Brook Park. We will have a special spirit week that staff and students are encouraged to dress up using the themes listed below:

Monday=Red-Y to live a healthy life (Wear Red)

Tuesday=Head to toe healthy (Crazy socks or crazy hair)

Wednesday=Be strong and kind (Wear superhero apparel)

Thursday=”Peace out” to bad habits (Wear tie dye)

Friday=Superstars make super choices (Wear BP spirit wear)

 

Help Wanted: Substitute Teachers:

District 95 is looking for substitute teachers at the rate of $120 per day. Can you work one day, two days, or more? All of those options are great ones. Community Information:

Calling all baseball players!

Do you love baseball? Do you already play for your local Little League team? Are you looking for some additional baseball that's still affordable, but more competitive? Then come to our Brookfield Nationals tryouts on Sunday, October 23! Anyone ages 6-12 who plays spring baseball in a local Little League is welcome to try out.
