Superstar Weekly Newsletter 1-26-24

Superstar Families,

This was a great week at Brook Park! We just wish it would stop raining so we can get outside for some recess! There are a few things to take a look at before the weekend:

Weather Reminders:

Please make sure students are dressed for the weather each day. We will go outside if the “feels like” temperature is over 20 degrees and the playground is dry and safe.

It is important to bring a pair of gym shoes if your child wears boots to school. This way they still can safely participate in PE and not have to wear boots for the entire day.

It is important to remember that the car line will be longer on days when there is bad weather. As a reminder, drop off begins at 7:45. School starts at 8:00. Being on time for school is an important part of your child having a great day.

January 22-26, SEL:

During Social Emotional Learning this week, kindergarten, first and second graders learned about and practiced sharing.  Third, fourth and fifth graders learned about and practiced cooperation.  For more information, check out the School Social Work Corner.

Grief & Loss Support Groups
If your child has experienced a significant change in his/her family structure (i.e. divorce or separation) or the death of a loved one and is having difficulty coping with that experience, the grief & loss support groups are an opportunity for them to put their feelings into words and identify their support systems.  Click here to learn more.
