How to Submit a FOIA Request
Requests may be submitted by personal delivery, mail, or email to the FOIA Officer listed above. Requests should clearly describe the public records being requested. Requesters are not required to state a reason for the request, except when requesting records for a commercial purpose or requesting a fee waiver.
Response Timeline
The District will respond to FOIA requests within 5 business days after receipt, unless the response period is extended as permitted by law. If additional time is needed, the District may extend the response period by up to 5 additional business days with written notice to the requester.

Fees
No fee will be charged for the first 50 pages of black-and-white, letter- or legal-sized copies. Additional black-and-white copies may be charged at $0.15 per page. Color copies, oversized copies, certified copies, or records provided on electronic media may be charged at the District’s actual cost.
No fee will be charged for electronic copies unless there is an actual cost for the recording medium.
Inspection of Records
Approved records may be inspected or copied at the District administrative office during regular business hours, unless other arrangements are made with the FOIA Officer.
Denials and Review Rights
If a FOIA request is denied in whole or in part, the District will provide the legal basis for the denial. A requester may seek review by the Public Access Counselor in the Office of the Illinois Attorney General or may seek judicial review as provided by FOIA.
